Magdeburg

The magnificent medieval cathedral of Magdeburg towers over the city of Otto. It is a landmark that can be seen from a long distance away, above the baroque facades, green spaces and colorful roofs of the city. It reminds visitors of the city’s 1200-year history. This is the first Gothic cathedral built on German soil. The impressive structure is a memorial to Emperor Otto I, whose remains are interred inside.
