CENTER OF EXCELLENCE Chemical and Industrial Park Zeitz
Green chemistry instead of brown coal
Something that sounds like a paradox is being implemented by companies settled in the Chemical and Industrial Park Zeitz: “green chemistry”. The park has committed itself to sustainability, which means the industrial use of renewable resources.
The site is also characterised by its internationality: companies from China, Italy, Ukraine and the USA have settled here – including major industrial and large-scale as well as small, medium-sized companies. The use of solar power, the methane production of the bio-refinery, and the reprocessing of used oil are just a few of the highlights to be found here. “Green chemistry” plus internationality – clearly a center of excellence.
Arvid Friebe, Managing Director of Infra-Zeitz Servicegesellschaft mbH
“Without doubt the Chemical and Industrial Zeitz is a beacon for the region. Our chemical park is medium-sized, independent, open, international and sustainable – a little more every day. In a few years, ‘green chemistry’ will be established around the world. This is already being affirmed by the kinds of plants settled here.”
