THIS IS WHY SAXONY-ANHALT IS THE PERFECT PLACE FOR YOU!
There are a lot of beautiful places in the world. But HERE in Saxony-Anhalt, we are building on traditions. HERE we are boosting our self-confidence and looking to the future. HERE products are made that are used all over the world. HERE researchers are developing innovations that are in demand globally. HERE people who don’t want to go anywhere else are living, loving and working.
We have brought together the key reasons why Saxony-Anhalt is the RIGHT region for you.
In comparison to other regions of Germany, rents in Saxony-Anhalt are relatively inexpensive. Whether you're looking for an apartment or a house, properties in Saxony-Anhalt are genuinely affordable compared with elsewhere in the country.
Rents are particularly low in rural areas such as the Altmark, but cities like Magdeburg, Dessau and Halle are also good places to live, whether you want a room in a shared apartment or your own four walls. And you don’t have to wait forever to find somewhere to live, because here there is plenty of space and enough housing to go round.
If you like peace and quiet, but don’t want to miss out on the action, that’s not a problem, because Saxony-Anhalt offers both. How about taking a walk over the world’s longest suspension bridge? It’s located here in the beautiful Harz region and is 483 meters in length. But there’s also plenty for adrenaline junkies to enjoy, with a mega zipline, giga swing and wall running. If that’s too exciting for you, why not try a relaxing walk in the valley of the river Bode? Or you could simply enjoy spending time in the beautiful countryside.
World-changing ideas emerged right in the heart of what is now Saxony-Anhalt, The Bauhaus art and design school in Dessau and its buildings are a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site and still have a strong influence on modern architecture today. What would the world be like without the Reformation? Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, which is now officially known as Lutherstadt Wittenberg and, together with Eisleben, makes up another UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. And the Nebra Sky Disc, part of the UNESCO Memory of the World program, is the world’s earliest representation of the cosmos. You can see the original in the State Museum of Prehistory in Halle (Saale).
